Thousands upon thousands of photos are being packed in boxes today. Portable hard-drives store thousands more from the digital age. Each one has reminded me that I have lived.
Such a beautiful life I have lived – captured in time. Funny thing is photos capture the best moments of your life. When you look at it that way, all the sorrow and heartache doesn’t seem to equate to the joy.
I always believed that one knows no joy without sorrow. It reminds me of the following quote.
Sorrow prepares you for joy. It violently sweeps everything out of your house, so that new joy can find space to enter. It shakes the yellow leaves from the bough of your heart, so that fresh, green leaves can grow in their place. It pulls up the rotten roots, so that new roots hidden beneath have room to grow. Whatever sorrow shakes from your heart, far better things will take their place.”
Today, I look back and see how full my life has really been. Thank you to everyone who has played a role in my life, big or small. You are part of who I’ve become.
